Pomegranate, 2022

The "Pomegranate" sensory tablescape design was my first independent experiment after leaving my job at the floral shop. Feeling exhausted and emotionally drained, I enrolled in an easy-going educational program offered by Jen Lagedrost Cavender of Nectar & Bloom. The program felt like a warm, cozy blanket and healing tea. Jen teaches floristry and yoga; she emphasizes the importance of mindful presence in the moment while arranging flowers. With still-fresh memories of myself turning into a caffeinated conveyor belt, striving to make a new bouquet every 20 minutes, that was the moment when I started envisioning floristry in a more wholesome way. I collaborated with Alina of Sova Photography to capture the fleeting moments of this still life.
